The record will show Parasite as having won four, Bong three. The only thing that changed in the renaming of the foreign language film award was the name but Bong didn't seem to know that. Maybe it got lost in translation.

Not sure if the old rule about Foreign Film belonging to the country (in this case, South Korea) and not the filmmaker personally is still the same rule, but heck, let Bong have 4.
I think it's still the same - the country but the director's name is inscribed on the statue now.

I didn't watch the show. I went to the movies instead (saw two films which included one the Oscar nominated films - The Lighthouse). I've only watched the In Memoriam segment on YouTube so far and will get around to all of Parasite's wins and leave it at that.

Bong, with four oscars, ties, Walt Disney for most oscars in a single night, if twitter is to be believed.

After a very predictable series of wins throughout the night, the final award is actually suspenseful. I still think 1917 is going to win, but the Director win for PARASITE gives me hope.

It seems like the Academy is setting up the Best Score category to make history with that introduction and the person they chose to lead the performance.

It IS an Oscar-winning song performed by an international superstar who just happens to have a brand new album out... it felt like it raised the energy.

One of the most pointless things I’ve ever seen in an Oscar show

The ones I was bothered by seemed mostly nervous, not necessarily bad.
