Oh, I'm a good Chicago boy. I'm not allowed to forget about The Blues Brothers. But that is about the extent of her clip reel :)

Anything can happen, but in a year in which the Academy is so desperate to reconnect with audiences, are they really going to give the Oscar for Best Picture to Roma? That could be seen as a lethal blow to the obvious populist aspirations... this year, is it more important the quality of the films or the agenda of the Academy, so focused on inclusion and box office? I think they are going to choose their agenda, no matter what. They must be (secretly) thinking "we need a Rocky-type of Victory". And for some reason, Bohemian Rhapsody is not only the unexpected juggernaut crowd pleaser it is, but also the "guilty pleasure" of the year. And Graham King, the only credited producer of the film, has worked with everyone in the industry (he already got an Oscar for The Departed, but is also the man behind The Aviator and Hugo, and was the Executive Producer of Argo, Traffic and Gangs of New York. Whatever happens in the end, there will be many people disappointed. No matter if the eventual winner is Bohemian Rhapsody or Rome or The Favourite... The Academy can not please everyone, least of all in times like these where everything is so susceptible to criticism. All in all, I really hope I'm wrong... and for the record, I'd vote for The Favourite.
