My film critic buddy just saw it. He gave it an "A-" and likes it quite a bit. He is a professional film critic, but he also probably qualifies as something close to a Scorsese fanboy. He's a giant fan of Shutter Island.

I mean, we had to imagine this was going to be something.

Given that the overlap between Twitter-addicted NYFF attendees and Scorsese fanboys is close to 100%, I'm going to wait on more legit reviews (which I believe start arriving this evening). But we can see the film will at least have its strong supporters.
