For whatever it may be worth I'm fairly certain I finished alone in 7th...likely the Morricone point you missed. I sadly misplaced my no guts no glory prediction runner-up selections...with Spotlight, Room script, and Bond all against the grain, but where I succeeded I yielded only 2 and where I failed I missed the consolation point.

Yes, but I would have taken no pleasure in that.

Congrats to Jefforey and all who played. It was a tougher year to predict than many would have thought.

Visual Effects is the only one of my predictions I'm glad I got wrong. On the other hand I'm glad I stuck with Spotlight for Best Picture, Rylance for Supporting Actor and went back to my original thinking on Vikander for Supporting Actress.

Congratulations to Jeffery.

I can only bang my drum on one thing. I am the only person to predict all 3 short film awards. I don't even ever watch them and simply checked out all of the nominee's pages on imdb and tried to guess which would appeal to the most members.

So, I went through our predictions in the three upset categories.

In Best Picture, 17 were predicting for The Revenant to win, five for The Big Short and only three for Spotlight. These three were Bog, Magilla and Anonymous. Anonymous was the only to correctly predict Spotlight to win only the two categories it did.

In Original Song, all but one were predicting for "Till It Happens To You". Bog was the only to get this one correct.

In Visual Effects, 19 were predicting for Force Awakens and six for Fury Road. No one got it correct.

I got a perfect score on the top 8 and got a couple of the down ballot awards right. If I'd gone with my got on Visual Effects I would have gotten that right, too, but there was no way I was going to win this contest with my blind spot toward you know what.

For a while there I thought I'd died and gone to Hell where I would spend eternity seeing people from Max Max come to the stage to collect their Oscars.

Franz Ferdinand wrote:I wish I had filled this in last week so I could be the first to guess David Bowie for the bonus, but c'est la vie

1. Brooklyn, The Martian
2. Leonard Nimoy
3. He will, and BJ will get an extra point when he appears with Jacob Tremblay
Sooo...glad you tarried in your response? Gross almost how you nailed these 3...with Rylance's win fairly certain it's solely you with 9 points (9.5/10 points if using the camera as a conduit counts for Tremblay...and your comment qualifies as BJ agreeance).

Do bonus points count regularly or as tiebreakers? I have what I thought was a possibly winning 50/72 but likely couldn't compete guessing nary a single "bonus" point...for instance did Sonic and I tie with 50 points I wonder? Did Franz eclipse us both with 9 bonus points? Sorry I'm a little slow...I see now they are tiebreakers...and it looks like Jeffrey and Sabin both topped me.
The Original BJ wrote:Magilla, predicting against Mad Max: Fury Road looks a lot like this year's equivalent of your annual no-shot old lady prediction, only in reverse. :D
This is the real key though...if Magilla had allowed himself to relent to Mad Max slaughtering down ballot a la a deluxe version of Matrix or Bourne (I mean it did seem obvious, as Italiano would say "objectively"...despite his Fosse repugnance comparison)...he'd have made a mockery of this contest.
