It's subjective. I said it was "subtler" not "subtle" as opposed to her over-the-top acting in Spotless Mind which is anything but subtle. Okay, you can throw the dishes now - I'm ducking!

I would describe her perf in Finding Neverland as adequate. Nothing spectacular. Perhaps maybe above average...definitely nothing compared to her work in Eternal Sunshine where I think she may have done some of her best work (IMO).

"Sublime" and "Finding Neverland" should never be in the same sentence. If you make sublime and adverb, you can say "sublimely overrated 'Finding Neverland'" or "sublimely flaccid 'Finding Neverland'" and that's okay. Other than that, you really have to work.

I thought Winslet was good, but I, too, preferred her subtler work in Finding Neverland. I thought the film itself ws too cutesy poo with Jim Carrey once again trying too hard to give a "serious" performance.

I liked the film very much....i would have given winslet her nomination, not a win though...i would have also given the screenplay a nomination but not a win. No other nominations. But i was very entertained by the film, i found the story very interesting and carrey does a fine job leading us through this story.
