I finally caught up with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Am I the only one on this board who doesn't think this film is the second coming? I'm sorry, but what a load of crap! They actually also gave the film an award for its screenplay?

Winslet's ''all out'' playing of a free spirit seems to have conned Academy members into thinking this is an Oscar role. I suppose it is the sort of role that gets noticed. Call me old fashioned but I preferred her sublime work in Finding Neverland instead.

You mean Finding Neverland and Ladies in Lavender are two different films?

Thanks for the catch. I fixed it.

Finally saw Kinsey. I am amazed that the Academy failed to nominate the film, Bill Condon's direction/screenplay and especially the superb performance of Liam Neeson. The music and the photography also deserved nods.

Lynn Redgrave has a marvellous ''Beatrice Straight'' moment right at the end of the film.

Magilla,

You have Kate Winslet listed, on your list below, in the supporting category for ''Ladies in Lavender''???
