Dakota Fanning?!!! :p I guess the Academy figured it hadn't embarrassed itself enough by giving Best Picture to Crash. I say let her vote in the goddamn cartoon category and leave the other awards for the supposed adults. "Supposed" is right. Everyone who voted for "Crash" last ...

That's right I forgot about that. Well she should have been placed in Comedy anyway. In the Drama catgeory I remember thinking that Lorraine Bracco was robbed for the episode where her character was raped (oh god THIS is what I get for browinsg Goldderby back then. I officially feel like a tool for...

Although many lament the state of tv comedy, I find the comedy lineup to be overwhelmingly stronger than the drama slate. Arrested Development, Scrubs, and probably Gilmore Girls are ALL better than any drama series... My perennial make-or-break nomination is, as always, Lauren Graham in Gilmore Gi...

You wouldn't say that if you knew me, but it's funny I admit. Was that a come on? ??? Criddic, I disagree with you on almost everything under the sun (and I'm sure given religious conservtive views lately, we'd probably disagree on the position of the sun too!) but I'll give you credit for being ab...

P.S. Doesn't The Incredibles essentially critique the culture of conformity those loons want to impose? (Not sure I wanted to open that barrel of worms, but . . .) Wellll...not entirely. I see where you're coming from and I too have argued with Damien on the merit of SOME animated films (for the re...

I would be surprised if President Bush could grow tired of his wife and start an affair with Condi Rice. It's a silly notion. Rice is an intelligent and admirable woman and Bush is a true leader, Oh god, can you honestly say that with a straight face? I just barfed big time. Ok ok. I stand correcte...

Sure, she’s coasted into nominations in the past when there were more deserving performances in the field ( Music of the Heart over Witherspoon in Election , comes to mind). Oh I'd forgotten about that one. I kept confusing it with "One True Thing" - which wasn't bad at all (if not less d...

I'm gonna vote for Bad Santa.

Now THERE'S a Christian film. I dunno, something about Lauren Graham in a hot Santa outfit. Made me say "Jesus", that's for sure!

In regards to the previous poster, holocaust films and musicals have never been nominated for either Sound Effects or Sound Effects Editing. The only Ron Howard film to get a nomination was Backdraft as the only Bruckheimer films to be nominated were Top Gun, Pearl Harbor and The Pirates of the Car...

WHOA. That score wasn't nominated? Really?? I never realized that, seriously I thought for sure it would be. My god, this branch had as much bad taste then as they do now. Strike em. Strike the whole category now, they're utterly useless.

I was going to do a Homer Simpson "Woo hoo!" at Deadwood not being eligible this year until I remembered that HBO's other high profile, oft nominated, overrated crapfest, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" WOULD be eligible. Which is arguably worse.

D'oH!

Won't this just lead to silly nominations, like cherry picking high profiled and potential Best Picture nominees. Previously, the "bake off" aspect allowed (arguably) truly deserving nominees or at least nominees that were clearly examples of achievements in Sound Editing (read: loud and ...

You're right Criddic, Bush isn't going down. Which is probably why Laura looks pissed all the time. Girlfriend needs a tongue between her legs PRONTO. Btw, does anyone else think the UK press is hilarious with its insinuations about George and Condi? LMAO. Not sure if that was posted or discussed h...

OK I know now why Brandon Routh is as gelded as a Ken Doll. Seems there were people who took offense with the costumes of Batman and Robin. One reviewer I read said it was "homoerotic"-- is this in reference to the costumes or the relationship? The decision was made not to Show Anything o...

[sigh] I'm never going to see Michael Cera and Alia Shawkat nominated, am I? Hottest couple on TV... I wish Arrested Development, Deadwood, Rescue Me, and The Office (especially Jenna Fisher) good tidings. Except for Deadwood, I'll endorse this list too and add Mary Louise Parker and ESPECIALLY the...
