First off, as to Thursday's game, that was some poor management on the Mets side in the bottom of the ninth. They were in the perfect position to go to the world series, and Randolph gambled on a dramatic, Kirk Gibson-esque win rather than a less dramatic, but more sure-fire win, and it backfired. ...

I'll put my two cents in and say that I think this is the best film I've seen yet this year (although I haven't seen much). I found the film a blast, and Dunst's performance fantastic. While by no means a history lesson, I think that is what Coppola was trying to avoid at all costs. The film is not...

Last time I saw him at Ebertfest a few years ago (2004 I think), he had lost quite a bit of weight. The word was he had been on a heavy diet, maybe attached to some health problems. Anyways, he does look pretty good in that picture.

OscarGuy, the producers have publicly stated that option 3 is not the truth, and hinted that option 2 is not correct either. I think option 1 is pretty much guaranteed to be true, though the extent is unknown.

Okri, I don't know if you are overestimating some of these awards. I think they would have looked like this: 2005: Phillip Seymour Hoffman 2004: Jamie Foxx 2003: Sean Penn 2002: Nicole Kidman 2001: Denzel Washington 2000: Julia Roberts 1999: Kevin Spacey 1998: Gwenyth Paltrow 1997: Jack Nicholson 1...

Mister Tee, I am as always impressed by your memory. I grew up in Detroit, and next to my beloved Cubbies the Tigers are my team. They have been much more exciting to follow this season, and I am rooting for them all the way into this postseason. That said, I think they may have an uphill battle ag...

I got nothing against Miller, and Jude Law actually drives me crazy. I am a Tom O'Neill hater, and a Kate Winslet lover, and can't believe someone wouldn't consider her a babe.

In my humble opinion, Winslet is the most babe-like of all those women up for nominations this year.

I posted this in the Last King of Scotland thread, but on Roeper and Random Guest Host this morning, both he and Kevin Smith were praising Forrest Whitaker in Last King.... However, they both took time out to mention he should have had more screentime, that the film centered too much on the other, ...

Don't know if anyone else caught Ebert and Roeper this weekend, but both Roeper and Kevin Smith praised Whitaker's performance. However, both also made a big point of mentioning that Whitaker wasn't in enough of the film, and Smith made it clear that Whitaker would win this years Best SUPPORTING Ac...

Sonic, as a former theatre major and someone makes most of his (little) money in the theatre, welcome back to this fabulous world. If only all community theatres (and I have worked as a teacher, stage manager and director for several) could have more intelligent folk like yourself who truly underst...
