Re: The 2024 Tony Awards

Granted I don't follow Broadway but once upon a time one was familiar with every actor nominated in plays and musicals. In the last decade or so 80% of the actors nominated are names I've never heard.

Re: Challengers reviews

Sabin your review makes it sound very interesting.

Am glad Josh O'Connor is going places. He has been consistently good over the years - brilliant in God's Own Country, Hope Gap, on tv in The Durrells and especially his Emmy-winning Prince Charles in The Crown.

His film Heading South (2005) has a memorable Charlotte Rampling. And The Class (2008) - nominated for an Oscar - is a lovely little film.

Died too young. May he RIP.

The First Omen (Arkasha Stevenson, 2024) 7/10 It's amazing how one can often find a dichotomy within the same place - the beauty and tranquility of a church and the menace and evil within it as well.....the latter of which one mainly gets to see only at the movies. This creepy prequel to Richard Don...

I think Maurice Chevalier would have easily won if he had been nominated for Gigi. And wonder how Hermione Gingold also missed out for a nod for the same film.
