Re: Category Fraud Alert (2023) -- Correcting Oscar
My opinion: what happens if a character would die? If the movie/story would be over, the character is a lead. If the movie/story could still go on, the character is supporting. Thus for me: Ryan Gosling is supporting Lily Gladstone is supporting Jodie Foster is lead And discussions are possible abou...

And Scorsese! All in the same year.Big Magilla wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 1:48 pm Sounds right, but who would have predicted, back in 1976, that Robert De Niro and Jodie Foster would one day be the oldest acting nominees in their respective categories?

Re: Sijmen's Oscar Experiment
I had 82%. Not great, but not too bad either. I'm frustrated about missing Bradley Cooper, since that was a no brainer. I blame the Golden Globes that decided to have six nominees per category instead of five.
Oh, well. I had my fun

Re: Great to see you!
Hello, sijmen. Made any movies lately? No, but I've been working as a screenwriter for more than 10 years now. I co-wrote two films, both did well on the festival circuit, winning some awards and received glowing reviews, but they were both commercially disappointments. The TV-shows I've worked on ...

I think what Sabin meant(?)....and what I'm wondering as well...how often do those listed as "LOCK" miss out on the category in which you've found them to be locked?....I imagine with how well you have formulated it is quite rare...do you track % on this happening? Those listed as locks d...

Re: Sijmen's Oscar Experiment
BTW, it looks like the WGA nominations play an important part throughout much of your formula. But they're not going to happen before the Oscar noms this year. So what do you do about that? No, they won't and it's a bummer I won't have the WGA noms before the nominations. I will just leave them out...

Sijmen's Oscar Experiment
Hallo again, some might remember me, since I used to come here daily back in the day when the internet was still fresh and innocent ;-) I had a site once called Sijmen's Oscar Experiment, where I tried to predict the Oscar nominations with a mathematical formula, based on the precusrsos awards (The ...

Re: Great to see you!
Yes, I still do my mathematical predictions ;-) I never skipped a year since Gladiator, always fine tuning and improving the 'formula' I've changed my site, since it was way too time consuming, but I still post the final predictions for my own pleasure here: http://oscarsijmen.freehostia.com/22oscpi...

Great to see you!
I guess it must be more than 15 years ago when I last came here, but around 2000/2001 the uaadb was my favourite website and I spent hours and hours here. I logged in so many times that after all those years my computer aparently still remembers my login and password ;-)) I just logged in to say tha...

Re:
I found two screenshots of Oscar Guy's message board in its original format. Thanks, Sonic Youth! I loved to see this again. I think I spent at least three years on this boards, back when they looked like this (aprox. 1999 - 2001). And probably almost daily. My first years on the internet. Loved th...
