Watched The View today and Joy Behar was the only one disappointed with the Bullock win. She referred to Streep as a "magician" - conjuring up such brilliant performances and not being honoured for them. If Meryl gets nominated again next year - her 17th - she will most likely lose again ...

I too thought there was an upset brewing when Precious won Best Screenplay Adaptation. I thought has Oprah managed to sway enough voters to vote for Precious for Best Film??? Remember her huge campaign to get Crash to win - and boy is the Academy regretting that choice! Worst screenplay this decade...

I didn't think the tribute was so bad. Agree it was awkward - but I guess the producers thought a tribute for a 1980s film maker will compensate for all the tweenies they were forced to get to present. Seriously - the only excuse for having Taylor Lautner and that coughing girl was to drag in the T...

I actually thought the woman was drunk! Couldn't understand a word she said - very slurred. And if she was a producer of the short - then she would get an Oscar statuette too. If she had nothing to do with the film - well shame on her for butting in and interrupting the producer's moment in the sun...

I thought Sandra delivered a mighty fine performance in Blind Side and agree she gave a beautiful gracious speech - with a touch of cheekiness referrring to the great Streep as a great kisser. I also thought she was terrific in Miss Congeniality, While you were sleeping, Hope floats, 2 weeks notice...

I found it a little bland and unmoving too. Last year Hugh Jackman and the revolutionary 5 former oscar winners presenting the acting awards was very moving. This year I felt the show was competent. No really awful moments - except for Neil Patrick Harris and Tom Hanks - and no really great moments...

shouldn't the awards be given to the BEST not the most POPULAR or the one that best reflects POP CULTURE??? Sadly I think the only way Meryl will win another Oscar is a consolation lifetime achievement award. You'd think that the fact Meryl has worked with probably EVERYONE in the Kodak theatre - t...

I can't believe I guessed this correctly! I changed my prediction after reading an article where a number of academy members gave it a thumbs up at a preview screening a few weeks ago. Apparently the people who organised these preview screenings has similar success with previous Foreign language an...

inky - I think Monique was referring to the internet hate campaign that some critics started when she snubbed them at their award shows. Rumours started that she only attended the awards shows only if she got paid to do so. This went on throughout the entire awards season and I think Mo'nique was p...

I thought the producers should have allowed Tom to read the 10 nominees again - would have only taken another 30 seconds or so. Just seemed very abrupt for what should have been the pinnacle moment of the show. thank goodness that overrated piece of crap Avatar didn't win. I thought the cards were ...

I absolutely love Sandra Bullock and she was very good in Blind Side BUT Merryl was brilliant in Julie and Julia and she has lost 14 times straight - sometimes to less deserving performers. This isn't as criminal as when Merryl lost out to the goddawful Paltrow - but very close. As for her winning ...
