I'm gonna get so much flack for this -- and I admit I know nothing about this show, its main characters or its actors, and please know that my post here has nothing to do with soap operas, or fans of soap operas, or gay men who watch soap operas to jack off to hot guys, or Penelope, or anyone else ...

Alexander Cockburn has a less rosy memory of Buckley. Thank goodness. I thought all the liberals had lost their minds. COUNTERPUNCH Weekend Edition March 1 / 2, 2008 The Race Card; Liberals Sniffle at Buckley's Passing By ALEXANDER COCKBURN When I first came to America in 1972 I was astonished to f...

His last four films have all be sizable hits. Anger Management, Something's Gotta Give, The Departed and The Bucket List. Obviously people still like him. (though he didn't really sell Departed, but still) Anger Management = Adam Sandler (see: juvenile young male audience who boost the box office t...

Argh! I cast my vote for Angelina Jolie and then remembered Jennifer Hudson was in this decade (I guess I completely blocked out her win). I'm sure Oscar Guy won't change it because he loves her and hates me for ragging on her (I'm not even sure if you CAN change the vote, can you?) but please let ...

This one was touch, there's not really a stinker in the bunch (what a difference from the distaff side!) but the least impressive/deserving are Clooney, Arkin and Caine. The latter two are better actors overall -- and Clooney really wasn't deserving at all -- but neither Clooney nor Arkin won over ...

Scorsese for career achievement and a wonderful film. And again, only ONE VOTE for him (my own??)?! You people really suck :p I expect the gay vote to win it for Ang Lee here. Only Howard and Sam Mendes have no business being on this list. But wow, what a better overall line-up than Best Picture --...

I bet Crash will win here but it's not nearly as awful as the two back-to-back Russell Crowe films. I'm glad Mind has the most votes thus far, but I have to go with the completely artless Gladiator (Connie Nielsen is no Jennifer Connelly, you know?). I also hated Chicago and A Beautiful Mind, but t...
