Re: New Developments III

Unfortunately, Lindsay Graham is not the worst of the worst.

He huffs and he puffs but he doesn't blow the house down like Tommy Tuberville or stand a chance of becoming Trump's VP candidate like J.D. Vance.

Re: R.I.P. Roger Corman

Are his films with Vincent Price - the Edgar Allan Poe lot, and many others - considered to be schlock? Maybe back then but today they are considered to be classics. Also many of the earlier horror schlock have been re-assessed. Take a look at the IMDb. ratings of his films. Those with a rating of ...

Re: R.I.P. Roger Corman

While most of the films Corman was associated with were pure schlock, he did have a classy side. His New World Pictures was the U.S. distributor of Amarcord which won the 1974 Oscar for Best Foreign Film, so he had a right to crow about that as well as his association with many of the year's other w...

Re: R.I.P. Roger Corman

He hadn't directed a film since 1990, but he continued as a producer up to his death with two films in pre-production.

Re: It's way too long since we had a quiz

Good to know.

I did know about Shaw and some of the others, but not Goldman.

Re: It's way too long since we had a quiz

I was looking for on-screen connections, not real-life ones between the characters that the mentioned actors were playing. I knew that Piaf and Garland met in real life and could have guessed that Churchill and the Iron Lady had met, but I probably would never have connected Hepburn and Goldman. Tha...

Re: It's way too long since we had a quiz

They all won Oscars for playing real-life people. Rainer and Streisand were Ziegfeld girls. DeNiro and Spacek won in the same year playing people who were still living and attended the Oscars with them. Blanchett and Stapleton played legends in bios of other legends. Cotillard and Zellweger played i...
